Job Summary | The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY, is amid a planned multi-year renewal of its faculty and mission. As part of this renewal, we seek applications for the Frank and Lillian Gilbreth Endowed Chaired and Tenured Full Professorship in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Rensselaer. Building on the department’s impressive history and tradition, we seek faculty who are uncovering knowledge and creating solutions to important societal problems, collaborating across disciplines, and integrating their innovations into classrooms. We value applicants who are interested in the success of their students, their department, and their field, and whose research, teaching, and service complement and enhance one another. These faculty will push the Industrial and Systems Engineering discipline forward and will make it more diverse and inclusive. Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. or foreign degree equivalent in a discipline related to Industrial or Systems Engineering. Job Summary | The Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of Quantum Computing, Quantum Information, and Quantum Technology, with focus on the fundamental aspects or applications of quantum computation, scalability, and error correction on current and future quantum computing devices. Research areas can include but not limited to quantum entanglement, decoherence, and noise in quantum networks, with applications to quantum cryptography, quantum encryption, and secure quantum communications in noisy environments. Possible related areas would also include studying and exploiting the fundamental connections between Quantum Monte Carlo and Quantum Computing, simulating quantum field theory and many-body theory with a quantum computer (in particular, simulating systems with a “sign” problem), quantum communication networks, exotic quantum dynamics, quantum sensing protocols, exotic quantum phases of matter, and theory on the nature of information at the quantum level. With the anticipated of arrival of the IBM Quantum System One on our campus, this hire will have access to explore and implement some of these challenging problems. This hire would be part of a bold effort at RPI to strengthen and extend our current faculty cluster in Quantum Information, and would interact with our current faculty on quantum optics and photon entanglement, quantum field-theory, quantum fluctuations in networks, as well as with researchers from Computer Science, ECSE, Future of Computing Institute, and with the future hires of the recently announced Quantum Constellation. The position also represents a response to federal priorities expressed in the National Quantum Initiative Act. The successful candidate will establish/maintain and externally funded research program, participate in collaborative, multi-investigator research and research training initiatives, and contribute to the high impact teaching program in the Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy. Postdoctoral research experience and a strong early record of publication in leading journals is preferred. The candidate is expected to work in an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment. |

Job Summary | Endowed Constellation Faculty in Future Chips at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute We are especially interested in candidates who have a demonstrated ability to perform high impact research in semiconductor technology to address the next generation challenges in computing. Areas of focus are rooted in fundamental science and engineering that drive advances in microelectronics, such as heterogeneous integration, advanced logic, advanced packaging, and power electronics. Physics of materials is also important to making these advances and is, therefore, an area of interest. The ideal candidates are expected to develop an internationally recognized, externally funded, scientific program in chip technology for the future of computing. Director of Accommodative Services
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular Full-Time
Supervisor: Director of Counseling Center
Position Purpose: Leads the Accommodative Services Office at Union College, providing strategic direction and overseeing day-to-day operations to support students with disabilities. Sets department goals, establishes organizational structures, develops policies and procedures, educates stakeholders, and supervises staff to ensure effective delivery of services. Advocates for students with disabilities, determines and coordinates accommodations, and promotes inclusivity within the campus community.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Leadership and Program Management: Oversees the Accommodative Services Office, establishing goals, crafting policies, and guaranteeing adherence to pertinent legislation such as Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Guides and supports the Assistant Director, Testing Coordinator, and a cohort of Peer Mentors to deliver inclusive assistance to students with disabilities. Handles the annual budget for the department.
- Reviewing Documentation and Assigning Accommodations: Examines and updates medical, psychoeducational, neuropsychological, and pertinent documentation. Identifies and enacts appropriate accommodations mandated by law. Chairs the Committee on Special Housing to assess and decide on special housing requests, including assigning single housing units and emotional support animals.
- Student Support and Advocacy: Collaborates with students to evaluate their requirements, coordinates accommodations, and devises initiatives to meet their needs. Champions students’ rights and enlightens the campus community about disability-related matters. Works closely with campus departments to facilitate accommodations for temporary disabilities, medical needs, housing, and mental health.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Engages with faculty, staff, students, parents, and community members to advise on disability services, legal rights, and accommodations. Collaborates with college attorneys, consultants, deans, and faculty to address concerns and ensure compliance. Supports students in study abroad programs and graduate school applications by providing required paperwork and ensuring their needs are accommodated.
Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, psychology, education, student affairs, higher education administration, or a related field is required.
- Must possess a minimum of seven (7) years of leadership experience in developing, coordinating, and managing disability-related services, preferably within a higher education setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legislation and practice concerning disabilities, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, the ADA Amendments (ADAAA) of 2008, and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Understanding of physical, cognitive, and emotional/mental impairments.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret psychological assessments, disability documentation, and diagnostic testing and determine appropriate reasonable accommodations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to advocate for students and engage with stakeholders effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to apply institutional goals and objectives to decision-making processes.
- Able to exercise exceptional judgment and problem-solving skills, ensure strict confidentiality, and demonstrate outstanding professionalism in a range of situations.
- Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community.

Compensation
The annual salary range this position is $80,000.00-$90,000.00. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
